What You’ll Find at Mountain Springs Resort & Campground: Amenities
Tucked into the countryside near Hamburg, Pennsylvania, Mountain Springs Camping Resort offers a mix of peaceful outdoor space, family-friendly fun, and practical amenities that make your stay comfortable—whether you're visiting for the weekend or settling in for the season.
If you’re considering a trip, it helps to know what’s available before you arrive. This isn’t just a place to park your camper. It’s a space built for easygoing recreation, convenience, and those little extras that make time outdoors feel a bit more like home.

CAMPSITES
Whether you’re in a pop-up camper, fifth wheel, or tent, there’s a site that fits.
-
Shaded and Open Areas: Some sites are wooded, offering welcome cover in the summer. Others are open—better for those who rely on solar panels or satellite TV.
-
Back-in and Pull-through Options: Pull-through sites are great for larger RVs, but some are tighter than they appear on the map. When in doubt, ask about turning space and driveway grade.
-
Electric and Water Hookups: Sites come with 20-, 30-, or 50-amp electric hookups, and many include sewer. If you prefer full hookups, be sure to confirm before you book.
-
Picnic Table and Fire Ring at Every Site: These are standard, making it easy to cook outdoors or enjoy an evening fire.
Planning ahead is key. Larger rigs benefit from early reservations and a quick phone call to make sure everything fits the way it should.
DUMP STATION
We offer a dump station for our guests in sites w/out sewer connections.

Swimming Pools
There are two: a large heated pool for general use and a wading pool for younger kids. Pool hours can vary with the season and weather. Expect the pools to open around Memorial Day and close sometime in early fall, depending on staff availability.
No lifeguards are on duty. That means children need to be supervised, and any roughhousing goes unchecked unless another guest speaks up. Also, inflatables are allowed—but keep them small. Large floaties make it hard for others to swim.

Fishing Ponds
Fishing is free, and no license is required. You’ll need to bring your own gear. The camp store sells basic bait and tackle if you forget something or want to pack light.
There are multiple ponds, and while the fish stock can vary, it’s mostly bluegill and bass. Early morning is usually the best time to cast. Fishing too close to walkways or seating areas is a mistake—there’s not a lot of open water space, and your line can get in the way fast.

Sports & Games
The recreation area includes:
- Full basketball court
- Horseshoe pits
- Quoits boards
- Ping pong and pool table indoors
- Shuffleboard
Outdoor gear is sometimes available to borrow, but you’re better off bringing your own if you care about condition or availability. Ping pong paddles, basketballs, and pool cues go fast during busy weekends, and replacements aren't guaranteed.
We also have an arcade with a few games for the kids

Playground
There’s a small playground suitable for kids under 12. It's close to the pavilion with picnic tables, and to the pools, which helps in supervising all the children. Slides, swings, and a few climbing features make up the space.
The ground surface is basic mulch—keep an eye on toddlers who still trip a lot. Sandals are fine, but closed-toe shoes are better if your kids plan to climb.
Laundry & Showers
The campground has coin-operated washers and dryers in the main building. Bring quarters—there’s no change machine inside. The dryers run hot but may need a second round for heavy loads like jeans or towels.
Showers are also coin-operated to help with water conservation. Each stall is private, with basic hooks inside. No shelves, no benches. A small caddy or plastic bag makes it easier to keep your things off the floor.
Camp Store & Snack Shack
Stocked with basic camping supplies, the store covers:
- Firewood and ice
- Bug spray, sunscreen, toiletries
- Drinks and snacks
- Tackle, bait, and limited RV parts
- Branded merchandise and souvenirs
We try to carry items our guests need, but don’t plan on it as your primary grocery stop. For that, you’ll need to head into Hamburg.
Dog Park
There’s a fenced dog run with grass and a few simple agility features. Dogs need to be leashed outside this area, but inside the park, they can roam freely.
Waste stations are set up at the entrance. Use them. The park gets plenty of traffic, and staff aren’t walking through every hour.
Scheduled Activities
Weekend events run during peak season. Common ones include:
- Bingo
- Wagon rides
- Dances and DJ nights
- Themed weekends for holidays
Not every weekend has something scheduled. Ask at check-in or check the activity board near the office. Some events require early signup, especially limited-capacity ones like crafts or hayrides.
Assume that most events are family-focused, though adult-only options sometimes appear on the calendar later in the season.
Wi-Fi and Connectivity
Wi-Fi is free, but performance depends heavily on your site’s location. Sites near the front office usually have a strong enough signal for basic browsing and email. Streaming or video calls are unreliable at best.
Cell reception is hit or miss, depending on your carrier. Verizon and AT&T work better than others in this part of Berks County.
General Notes
- Firewood must be burned on-site. No carry-out is allowed due to pest concerns.
- Quiet hours are enforced. This isn’t a place for late-night parties.
- Dump stations are available near the exit for guests without sewer sites.
- Trash bins are spaced throughout the park but not at every site. Pack in, pack out when needed.
