Mountain Springs Resort & Campground Activities

Each weekend at Mountain Springs feels a little different. Some lean into food and music, others focus on crafts and family games. A few are built around themes or traditions that returning campers look forward to all year. Here’s what’s on the calendar and how to plan for it.

Family-Oriented Events

Christmas in July
 Kids meet Santa. Campsites decorate. Candy cane hunts happen across the property. S’mores are served. This weekend fills quickly. Bring lights and decorations if you want to join in the glow parade.

Easter Weekend
 Egg hunts for kids up to age 16. Coloring contests. Egg dyeing. The jellybean drop is messy and popular. Show up early or miss your turn.

Back-to-School Weekend
 Crafts for kids, a community dance in the pavilion, and bingo prizes geared toward school supplies.

Father’s Day & Mother’s Day
 Free coffee and donuts for parents. Kids make crafts. Photo booths may be available—ask at check-in.

Tournaments & Games

Fishing Rodeo Weekend
 Open to all ages. Bring your own rod and bait. Kids often outfish the adults. Winners announced Saturday afternoon.

Bingo Marathon Weekend
 Multiple rounds, including themed games like Squishmallow Bingo. Cards go fast. No seat-saving between rounds.

Cornhole Tournament
 Sign-up required. No walk-ons. Held near the pool area. Prizes vary by turnout.

Blind Golf Cart Race
 Teams of two. One drives blindfolded. The other gives directions. Safe? Mostly. Hilarious? Always.

Food & Drink Events

Smoke-Off Weekend
 Guests compete to make the best smoked meats. Judges are selected from the crowd. Bring your own plate and vote. DJ runs music throughout the day.

Wine & Cheese Tasting
 Held during Memorial Day Weekend. Must be 21+. Samples only. This isn’t a dinner—eat beforehand.

Pancake Breakfasts
 Usually on Sundays during themed weekends. Free for moms on Mother’s Day and dads on Father’s Day.

Adult-Only Nights

Prom Weekend
 Dress up or don’t. DJ spins from 7–11 PM. Themed photo ops. Ages 18+ only. Kids have separate activities elsewhere.

Paint & Sip
 All supplies included. Wine is BYOB. Runs about two hours. Held indoors—space is limited.

Site Crawl
 A rotating meet-up where each host site offers a small snack, drink, or activity. Adults only. Some bring appetizers. Others serve drinks. Check the board for the map.

Charity & Community Events

Camp for Hope Weekend
 Benefits children with critical illnesses. Carnival games, cotton candy, ticket auction, golf cart parade. All proceeds go to charity. This is one of the campground’s biggest weekends.

Love Your Pet Weekend
 Pet show with prizes. Bingo raises funds for Camp for Hope. Bring a photo of your pet if they don’t travel with you—you can still join.

Vendor & Yard Sale Days

Several weekends feature vendor pop-ups or community sales:

  • Memorial Day Weekend
  • Prom Weekend
  • Wet & Wild Weekend
  • Back-to-School Weekend

You don’t need to register to browse, but if you want to set up a table, sign up in the office before Friday night.

Recurring Activities

Some weekends add smaller events that rotate throughout the season:

  • Wagon rides
  • Kids’ crafts (usually Saturday mornings)
  • Scavenger hunts
  • Glow parades
  • DJ or live music in the evenings
  • Craft & vendor shows with local sellers

Exact schedules are posted on the activity board by the office. It’s updated every Friday afternoon. Don’t assume an event is happening—check the board.

Planning Tips

  • Book early if you're coming for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Christmas in July. These sell out.
  • Some activities require signup at check-in (Paint & Sip, cornhole, prom, etc.).
  • Most events are free for registered guests, but a few may require small material fees (tie dye, ceramics).
  • Don’t forget bug spray for evening events. Especially during wagon rides and dances.
